Bishop’s Cleeve Parish Council declared a climate emergency in 2019, joining Gloucestershire County Council and Tewkesbury Borough Council in this declaration.
This autumn, with face-to-face Parish Council meetingsre-enabled, the Council has formed a Environmental Sub-Committee. This sub-committee will consist of 7 Parish Councillors and up to 7 non-councillors, individuals drawn from the local community, because of the expertise, energy, and enthusiasm they provide in matters of climate, green energy and protecting our local environment.
The aims of the Environmental Sub-Committee for Bishop’sCleeve are:
a. To promote green initiatives to our community
c. To encourage and support recycling and greenenergy/lifestyle initiatives
d. To grow community awareness and engagement with localenvironmental projects
This sub-committee will only succeed in these aims with the involvement of local experts to ensure we are focused on what matters most to Bishop’s Cleeve. Please do consider joining us if you think you can add relevant expertise and enthusiasm to our activity.
