It was with great sadness that the Parish Council learnt, on Thursday evening, of the sudden death of Councillor Peter Richmond.
Peter had been a parish councillor for 23 years, having joined the Council in 1997 following a period as a member of Swindon Village Parish Council.
During his time as a Bishop’s Cleeve Parish Councillor, Peter was very active and was heavily involved in bringing the Sports Field, Pavilion and Bowls Club to fruition and was then instrumental in the building of the current Parish Office and Garden. Both projects lay testament to his dedication to his community.
Peter will be sorely missed by his fellow councillors, the Council staff and the community whose environment he spent many years helping to improve. The Council’s thoughts are with his family ad friends at this very difficult time.
Peters Funeral will be held on Tuesday 5th April at St Michael’s and All Angels Church at 2.30pm
