Statement regarding the death of Her Majesty the Queen

Statement from the Chair of Bishop’s Cleeve Parish Council

It is with great sadness that we have learned the news of the death of our Monarch, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Most of us have not known life without her as our Queen, a Queen who led the Country and the Commonwealth with a lifelong dedication to duty, the like of which we will never see again.

On behalf of Bishop’s Cleeve Parish Council and all of our residents we offer our sincere condolences to her family at this very difficult time.

A Book of Condolence is available in the Parish Office for residents to sign during the office opening times.

As a markof respect, the Council will be flying the Union Flag at half-mast and over the coming days we will be following the national protocol to mourn Her Majesty.

Anybody wishing to lay floral tributes is asked to do so at the flag pole in the Parish Garden, Church Road, Bishop’s Cleeve, but please do not leave them wrapped in paper or plastic and avoid leaving candles.  Those placed outside of the designated area will be moved to the official area.  All items will be removed the day after the State Funeral for HM Queen Elizabeth II.

In accordance with protocol all Council meetings scheduled to take place until the 26th September have been postponed.  Further details ofthe revised dates will be available on the Council’s website shortly.
